This website is a bit out of date, but the Philadelphia Seed Exchange is alive and well! In Winter 2015/2016, we had 3 very well attended seed swaps in partnership with the Culinary Literacy Center at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Mt. Airy Learning Tree Classes: Seed Saving with Winter Greens

Learn how to grow your own winter greens and save the seeds from year to year. Registration is now open for our Mt. Airy Learning Tree courses. Join us May 20 or June 10 for an afternoon session. We will help you plan your garden for winter greens (kale, collards, Brussels sprouts, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower and more) and a spring crop of seeds.

Free Seed and Plant Exchange: Sunday April 22

Join us for a free seed and plant exchange at CIRCA 1212 on South St. in Philly Sunday April 22 from 2-5pm. Bring seeds if you got ’em. What if I don’t have seeds? Not a problem. We have seeds to share. Bring plants to swap too!

What’s purple in the earth, red at market and yellow on the table? Find out at our free seed and plant exchange Sunday, 2-5pm at Weaver’s Way Coop in Mt. Airy. 559 Carpentar Lane, Philadelphia, Pa 19119. This event is free and open to the public. Bring seeds and plants to share and swap with local gardeners and urban farmers. Don’t have any seeds? Not a problem! We have a growing collection of seeds available to take home.

Free Lecture and Exchange: Dec 10

Space is still available for our upcoming event, Saturday Dec 10, at the Wister Education Center in Swarthmore, PA. We will begin the afternoon with a lecture about seed saving and plant breeding at 2pm followed by a seed and plant swap. No need to RSVP, just show up.
